Join the North Pennsmen and the Liberty Belles on YouTube for our FREE a cappella show premiering June 10th at 7 PM. “Songs and Smiles from Across the Miles” will take you on a tour from shore to shore and back in time. Let’s go without a care to wherever the music takes us, whether it’s New York or Texas, or even a bygone era.
The music is upbeat and the chords really ring, so save the date to see us sing. Just subscribe to the North Pennsmen YouTube channel for notifications. We’ll remind you 30 minutes before we raise the panel. Also, please say you’re "Going" on Facebook and "like" us there. If you know others who might like us, feel free to share!

LANSDALE, Pennsylvania – The Liberty Belles Chorus, like many others, became a virtual chorus in March 2020, due to the restrictions put on large gatherings. While this of course has had its challenges, they have continued their weekly rehearsals (via Zoom), welcomed many guest singers over the months, and have increased their membership by 10%.
“It’s actually easier for some people to come to a virtual rehearsal rather than walking into a room full of people and sing,” says Nancy Weisbein, President and Membership Chair for The Liberty Belles. Speaking from her own personal experience, Weisbein went on to explain “As an introvert … it was very hard for me to walk in the door to start my journey with the Belles. Somehow, everyone helped me feel comfortable and confident that I belonged there. I’m glad I was able to do an in person rehearsal, but virtual probably makes a lot of people feel empowered to step into the Belles family.”
During a year where people have spent a great deal of time in isolation, it has motivated them to seek out online groups where they can connect with people who have shared interests and goals. In addition to connection on a virtual level, many choruses have also found that it is important to remain “in touch” with their members on a personal level. Some choruses, such as The Liberty Belles, stay connected by adding social time to their rehearsals, or by contacting individual members via phone or handwritten letters.

On December 10, 2019, our members Diana, Christine and Meg dropped off 100 donated holiday gift bags from our Chorus to Laurel House for their holiday party! Laurel House is a domestic violence agency serving individuals, families and communities throughout Montgomery County, PA, being dedicated to the vision of ending domestic violence in each life, home and community.
The Belles are so blessed to be able to support this amazing organization. Some items donated in the gift bags included pads and pens, facemasks, bath supplies, and candies!
Next week we will be performing for their residents and clients at their holiday party!
Our annual pancake breakfast fund raiser at Applebee's was once again, a huge success with a lot of family fun, cameraderie, good eats and of course, some great singing!

Thank you to all who contributed to the success of our wonderful Spring Show - That Radio Show from the 1959!
Both Friday night and Saturday Matinee shows were well attended in our new venue, Souderton Mennonite Church. The atmosphere in the sanctuary was warm, with great accoustics, comfy bench seating and plenty of stage space for our Liberty Belles and North Pennsmen ensembles.
Our wonderful support auxiliary, the Pennettes, did a great job in the front of the house with their usual friedly greetings and homemade breads for everyone to purchase. There were plenty of Door prizes and much to look through about our rich ensembles' history, all on display in the front lobby.
The Liberty Belles will now be preparing for our Area 3 contest in Liverpool, NY, on May 3-4. Please keep following our progress and join us at one of our Monday rehearsals!
The Liberty Belles collected all these goodies for Laurel House this month plus we gave them $300.00 in gift cards and cash. To say Samantha Koellhoffer, their Volunteer Coordinator was thrilled, was an understatement! Watch this report and you'll know why you need to support this great community support system.
