The Liberty Belles Chorus Leadership

The Liberty Belles Chorus thrives in part because of the commitment of the people in leadership. Here are a few of the people who offer their gifts to make our ensemble tick:

Meet Sarah Thorne-Miller. Sarah has been performing since age 4 and singing since age 8 in numerous school choirs and plays. After graduating from college where she was a member of University of Maryland’s all-female a cappella group, The Treblemakers, she spent a number of years looking for a singing group to join. To her delight and sanity, she found the Liberty Belles and joined them in early 2015. While this is her first experience with barbershop, Sarah fell in love with the genre and the Chorus immediately and is thrilled to be singing and performing once again. Sarah is a legal assistant at a law firm by day, so her organizational skills and professionalism come in very handy in her Belles Board position.

Vice President

Meet Christine Dunigan.

"I have been a member of the Liberty Belle’s for four years. I have been married to my husband, Tim, for 28 years and have 2 wonderful children who hold my heart. I have been a practicing Registered Nurse for the last 31 years. Yes, I still love and am passionate about nursing!!! Presently I am an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Montgomery County Community College. I continue to work in the Intensive Care Unit, at Einstein Montgomery as per diem staff. In my spare time when I am not singing/performing I volunteer at York Avenue Elementary School, weekly, to help the Reading Support teacher. I also assist to raise money for the PA Hero’s Walk and Trees for Troops which support our veterans. When I have some down time I love to read, work in my gardens, sew and go out to dinner. I would describe myself as compassionate, open minded, critical thinker, loyal with a strong work ethic"

Meet Lisa Traxler. Lisa was introduced to female barbershop harmony in 1990. She still enjoys learning the barbershop craft and grows with each new experience.

"There are many levels in barbershop singing that will keep you engaged and always striving to improve. I enjoy singing with the Liberty Belles because of the extraordinary leadership at the forefront."

Meet Nancy Weisbein. Nancy grew up in a family of musicians and singers. She has sung all kinds of music from folk to opera but barbershop was brand new to her. She really loves learning so much about music and becoming a better singer every week with the Liberty Belles. Nancy is married to her husband, Perry. She works as an office manager and puts those skills to use on the Liberty Belles board.

Meet Joanne McCreery. Joanne grew up through grade school up until the end of her college days singing in chorus groups and later in a church band until my mid 20s. Since then, she never had an opportunity to sing in a chorus until she joined the Liberty Belles, singing Lead, in December 2015. She found the Liberty Belles through "Meet Up" and on the very first day of her visit, she knew she had found something very special. After 3 weeks she auditioned and passed! Since then she has learned so much through the amazing direction from the two chorus leaders, Anne and Ig. "I love being a part of this very special sisterhood who have heart, compassion, and lots of love for this craft. I feel so blessed to be a part of this wonderful group!"

Director at Large

Meet Linda Franco! Linda's Mom says she sang before she talked!  From church choirs as a child to concert choir and Madrigal singers in college, and even a couple of Motown bands, singing has always been a big part of her life.  Linda found the Belles by attending our show in 2017 and is so glad she did!  Linda also sings bass in the quartet, Sharp Turn.

Director at Large

Meet Diana Roscioli. Diana joined the Belles in 2013. She has always loved singing and growing up with Motown harmonies, she found her perfect inspiration in the Barbershop sound of the Belles! Professionally, Diana is a retired Psychologist and former executive manager as a Regional Vice President with United HealthCare. She is excited to share her people and management skills as Director at Large, on the Board, to further the positive culture of the Belles

Director at Large

Meet Alix French. Alix has enjoyed listening to Barbershop music since her childhood when she was introduced by watching a skit in the tv sitcom "I Love Lucy". She has only recently started to sing Barbershop when she searched for and found the Liberty Belles. "I joined because I missed close harmony singing, but I stayed because of the way the directors have created a welcoming and challenging group of singers just trying to ring a chord together."

Sarah E

Director at Large

Meet Sarah Everingham. Sarah joined the Liberty Belles in 2017. She grew up singing and playing piano at church as well as for the high school chorus and select choir. She also successfully auditioned vocally for district and regional choruses and district jazz chorus. From a professional standpoint, she works in the compliance realm for a pharmaceutical company. Sarah enjoys volunteering, reading and hanging out with her cats in her spare time.
